Are your organic labels up to standard?

In latest news, the Textile Exchange has issued a report that the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program released an updated policy memo about the labeling of  textile products.  According to the Textile Exchange, “the most important change from the old memo is that now the NOP allows third party certified textile products to be labeled as “organic” as long as the fiber being referred to was certified to the NOP regulations at the farm level”. ” The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was recognized in the memo as the standard that meets with the NOP regulations.”
