WHAT IS BAMBOO?

Bamboo textiles are cloth, yarn, and clothing made out of bamboo fibres. While historically used only for structural elements, such as bustles and the ribs of corsets, in recent years a range of technologies have been developed allowing bamboo fibre to be used in a wide range of textile and fashion applications. Modern bamboo clothing is clothing made from either 100% bamboo yarn or a blend of bamboo and cotton yarn. The bamboo yarn can also be blended with other textile fibres such as hemp or even spandex.

Cameron Diaz was spotted out and about in Paris on January 23, as the beautiful blonde is in town for Paris Fashion Week. Earlier that day, Cameron attended both the Dior Haute Couture fashion show and the Versace Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 presentation. Sounds fabulous! For her fashionable ensemble, Cameron started with a basic pair of black skinnies (try Hudson Jeans’ Collin Skinny Jean in Jet Black) and then wore a black t-shirt with a uniquely printed jacket. For two cool and distinctive jackets here on CoutureCandy, try either The Battalion’s Alain Jacket in Snow Leopard or Jenny Han’s Funnel Neck Jacket in Black/Cream.  From there, Cam slipped into a light grey pair of suede booties and toted along a black tote with chain strap (like Julie K Handbags’ Renee Flap Shoulder Bag in Black).  Beauty wise, a rosy lip and a chic updo – accentuated by a dark manicure – completed her casual yet polished Parisian look. What are your thoughts, everyone… are you into CD’s look here? While in Paris, Cameron spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about her take on the Dior show, saying: “I lost my breath after the first four. The fabrics were sexy and feminine.” You know if four looks make Cameron Diaz – someone who is exposed to couture and designer looks on probably a daily basis – lose her breath, it must have been a momentous show!

1. The 1st son loves music. The head of Number 1 son becomes a decoration for music instrument, such as two-stringed bowed violin(huqin).

Photographed leaving Katsuya in Hollywood on January 10, Lauren Conrad seemed to be a bit shy and tried shielding her face from the ever-present paparazzi. I always find it funny when celebs act like they don’t want to get their picture taken when they’re leaving Katsuya, especially when paparazzi pretty much camp out in front of the restaurant! You don’t want your photo taken? There’s about 1,000 other sushi restaurants in LA that the paparazzi don’t frequent. Just a tip! For her sushi ensemble, Lauren paired a high waisted cream colored skirt (for something similar, check out Joie’s Lotus Skirt in New Moon) with a black camisole (try Soul Revival’s Amy Cami in Black) and classic black blazer (you can’t go wrong with Elizabeth & James’ Cate Blazer in Black), and then donned a pair of studded black lace-up booties and carried a black tote with gold chain detailing. A menswear-inspired watch and gold double finger ring (take a look at Erica Anenberg’sCosmo Sparkle Twosome Ring in Gold/Clear) finished off LC’s ‘fit. In other Lauren news, the former “Hills” star allegedly ran into ex-fling Derek Hough at popular LA hotspot Beacher’s Madhouse. According to People: “Lauren was fairly reserved, dancing occasionally to the music. COLOR BLENDER

Color Blender let’s you select a preferred color and then it generates a six color blend based on that color. From there you can tweak each individual color.

Scientists from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China have come up with a unique cotton material that can clean itself when left under ordinary sunlight. The fabric includes a coat of nanoparticles made from a compound of titanium dioxide, nitrogen, silver and iodine. From a test experiment, the special coating was able to remove an orange stain when exposed to sunlight for just two hours. Furthermore, the coating remained intact even after washing and drying.

Researchers Mingce Long and Deyong Wu published their findings in the American Chemical Society Journal Applied Material & Interfaces. However, it is not expected that the breakthrough invention will be hitting retail shelves anytime soon.
